AI Agents
Build intelligent agents that automate workflows and integrate with your knowledge base
What are AI Agents?
AI agents are an extension of the capabilities shown by the AI assistant that works directly with your knowledge base and other applications. They can be configured with custom instructions and automated workflows to handle specific tasks.
Key Capabilities: Custom instructions, workflow automation, knowledge base integration, and application connectivity
Creating Your First Agent
1. Create a New Agent
Start by creating a new agent document:
- Click on create (command + k) and choose the new agent option
- Give your agent a descriptive name
- Choose the appropriate workspace folder
2. Write Agent Instructions
Provide instructions in plain language where document content usually goes. Be specific about:
- What tasks the agent should perform
- How it should interact with users
- What knowledge sources to prioritize
- Any specific formatting or style requirements
3. Configure Agent Settings
On the right side panel under the "Agent" tab with the gear icon, configure:
- When to run the agent (triggers and scheduling)
- Which knowledge sources to access
- Integration settings with other applications
- Output preferences and formatting
Best Practices
✅ Do
- • Provide clear, specific questions
- • Reference specific documents when needed
- • Use AI for research and analysis
- • Iterate and refine your requests
❌ Don't
- • Ask for sensitive personal information
- • Expect 100% accuracy on all topics
- • Use for final decision-making alone
- • Overload with too many tasks at once
Common Use Cases
📊 Research & Analysis
Analyze documents, extract key insights, and summarize complex information across your knowledge base.
✍️ Content Creation
Generate reports, summaries, and documentation based on your existing materials and guidelines.
🔍 Smart Search
Find relevant information quickly using natural language queries across all your documents.
Testing Your Agent
Without touching the settings, you can start immediately testing out your agent:
- Navigate to the "Chat" tab when an agent document is selected
- Send a test message to see how your agent responds
- The agent will use your custom instructions and resources instead of default instructions
- Iterate on your instructions based on the agent's responses
💡 Pro Tip
Start with simple, clear instructions and gradually add complexity. The more specific your instructions, the better your agent will perform its intended tasks.
